We have a potty trainer!!

After a fluke incident this morning we now have a full time potty trainer at least at home for now.
Yep, he woke up this morning with a DRY diaper! So as we were getting ready to take a shower this morning I took off his diaper and as soon as I did he started to go a little. I immediately picked him up and set him on the toilet. I said go potty on the toilet and I'll go get you a new toy today and a treat!
He loved the sound of the words treat and toy so lo and behold he went not once but 3 times in about 15 minutes! We then went to PIU with our friends where I put him back in a diaper and he did go potty in the diaper. However, it's a work in progress and I'm not pushing him. We got back home after lunch and he took a nap and woke up and we took his diaper off again and ever since he's been going all afternoon/evening on the potty!
He's so proud of himself and so are his mom and dad!! Maybe this is the end of our 40.00 every 2-3 weeks on diapers and another 15.00 on wipes!!! Man I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will continue to update on our progress!! Oh yea, btw, the toy he picked out was Jessie from Toy Story 3, it's one of the last two that he really didn't have, it was either her or bullseye. I thought it was cute, he's been catering to her all afternoon.

Monday and a BIG swim day!

Jackson shooting the water guns

On Monday we went with our friends to the Rosemeade Rain Forest in Carrollton about 20 minutes from our house. We went last summer when Jackson was a little smaller and he liked it but he was still a little young for it in my opinion to get the full enjoyment out of the slides and truly swimming.
Fast forward to this year and it was a new little boy out there getting right in the mix of everything and enjoying playing and going down slides and everything.
He loved going down the slides and I mean BIG slides, bigger than he's ever gone on before and honestly I even thought they were a little big for him. In any case, he did REALLY well, even swimming! He's evolved into such a little fish in the past month, from wanting to hold my hands to jump in to full on diving in the water and swimming underwater to me! A lot of GREAT progress!
We will definitely be going back, we got there at 10am and stayed until almost 2!!! Yes, he was DONE when we left, just like I like him to be when we get home..haha!! Enjoy the pictures!

Low Key Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key.
Friday night we stayed around here for the most part, I think we got something quick to eat if I remember correctly. Wow, where is my memory going?
Saturday Jeff went on his first bike ride alone with the Richardson Bike Mart people. Basically on Saturday mornings they have various bike rides for various levels of riders. Jeff decided that he wanted to try one out and see what it's about, it was 20 miles and from what he said he did great. I opted not to participate b/c I am the one that pulls Jackson in the bike jogger on my bike and since the ride is mainly on crowded streets of traffic it would have been to dangerous. So Jackson and I went on our usual bike ride around the hood. We rode about 10.5 miles and he did wonderful, I think the slurpee bribe works wonders.
Sunday we got up and went for an early bike ride around our usual White Rock Lake, just the short loop (9.1 mi). Afterwards we went and grabbed a late breakfast, early lunch and ran some errands. Later on we opted to go to our pool to burn some of Jackson's never ending energy off, he is really getting to be a great swimmer, getting more brave everytime and really swimming his little behind off! Can't wait to see how he fares by the end of summer!
Oh well, that's about it, yep, pretty low key. Pretty low key short week ahead with July 4th. Hopefully Jeff can sneak away from work some and hang with us! We'll see, hope everyone had a great weekend!

A true 3 of a KIND!

The 3 Amigos!

So, today Jackson, Austin, Noah and Robyn and myself all went to the pool with my Wednesday playgroup.
Sidenote:The cousins and SIL were in town for Robyn to have a party for her company she works for with one of my friends as the hostess. It was a great turnout and a lot of fun!
In any case, we all decided to head to the pool and stay cool today, what a blast everyone had. Jackson just loves playing with his two older cousins and did really well jumping in and swimming and loved it when Noah swam with him and Austin "caught" him when he jumped in.
All in all a great day with no complaints especially when Jackson falls asleep 5 minutes into the car ride home!

All 3 amigos at the theater

check out the two having ice cream!

Monday and another Movie Day!

So today we had planned to go on a movie date with our friends Kendall and Miguel. There is a movie theater that has summer movies playing all summer for CHEAP like 1.00 for kids and 2.00 for adults. Can't pass up such a great deal and it gives us a break from the hot summer heat.
In any case we arrived late b/c my 3yr old decided that he needed to sleep in to a new record of 10:15!!! Either he is growing or he is still tired from the long weekend we had! So the movie started at 10:59 and we watched Curious George, he liked it OK, but honestly had never seen an episode and by the end was much more interested in talking to Miguel and Kendall, oh well it was only 3.00!
After the movie we went and hung out a little longer with Kendall since he had only been up for 2 hours by the time the movie ended! We jetted over to Northpark Mall and let the kids run around and get a little extra energy out along with getting an ice cream!
After that we headed home for a nap and he slept another record for 3 hours!!! Growth spurt for sure!!
Oh well, that was our day thanks for reading along and joining us! Hope you are enjoying the blog thus far and the pictures!!!

Happy Father's Day!!

First and foremost I would like to take a moment and recognize my wonderful hubby for the loving and generous father and husband he is! Thanks Jeff for all you do for our family, you truly are a blessing to both Jackson and myself!
Secondly dad, thanks for all you've done for me as well. I know you are always there for me and my family and I'm SO incredibly blessed to have you as a father and Jackson loves his grandpa!

In any case before I start getting to sappy, I'll continue on with our day.
I asked Jeff what he wanted to do today and well, he simply stated, not have any stress. Well, that's pretty easy, just go along with what he wants to do then, right? RIGHT!
So, that said, we woke up late this morning (9am) for us is pretty late but we did stay out waaay past our bedtime having too much fun with friends last night! In any case, guess who made breakfast this morning? YEP! Jeff..lol. He is such a great cook and very particular with how his breakfast is made so in keeping with the "no stress" theme of the day I let him cook for all of our sakes. He cooked a yummy pancakes, bacon and egg breakfast, it was sooo yum!
After breakfast he decided he needed a rest and went and laid back in bed for a little while so Jackson and I spent a few moments playing together.
We needed to go and run some errands which had us work up a pretty good appetite for some delicious BBQ. We went to what my husband swears is THE best BBQ or actually brisket at Cooper's.
After we finished and ate too much (we brought half of it home if not more than half), we made sure to also bring some blackberry and peach cobbler home too. YUM YUM YUM!!
All in all it was a great day and am pretty sure Jeff had a pretty fantastic stress free day.

Welcome to my blog and Friday's Movie Date

Hi Everyone!
Well I've given into the peer pressure and decided to start documenting our life as simple as it is..most of the time.
I'm really doing this for my son's sake. I'd like for him to look back when he starts reading and comprehending blogs/internet/stories and be able to see what we did when he was a toddler.
I'll also include some randomness I'm sure of my hubby and I and all that happens on a weekly to monthly basis. My goal is to update as I remember or at the end of every week. So please, be patient, I'll try my hardest keep this blog as recent and up to date as possible!

Friday, what a great day for a movie, a NEW movie at that! Toy Story 3 opened today and you have to know my son's obsession with Buzz and Woody and all that surrounds this trilogy. I told him I would take him when the movie opened and boy was he excited! He had a blast with his popcorn and icee, and his buzz and woody doll and oh yeah his brand new 3d buzz lightyear shirt that I happened to find for cheap at Kroger of all places. HA!
We both loved the movie and really had a great "date" together, just Jackson and mama...I'll try posting some pictures I took at the theater and after we left. Be patient please I'll see how posting pics works out for me...thanks for following if you so choose, this should be interesting!
